How Do You Find The Right Mentor

For anybody that's been looking at working from home online or just needs to earn an extra income one of the most important things to consider is finding the right Mentor that will show you step by step how to become successful online.

Make sure they have a good proven record and that they themself are very succesful. In order for them to have been succesful they will have had a very good mentor, you will need somebody that will motivate you and kick you into that motivational mind set. There isnt many people that have been succesful online that have managed to do it on their own with nobody holding their hand and guiding them through the different key stages to internet marketing.

You Will Need Someone Who You Connect With

This is really important, because if you don't connect with them you will find it really hard to regulary be on the phone or in contact whilst working together.
This isn’t something that people generally go searching for its something that “just happens” I know that when I first started out online, I looked at many different businesses and many different people, and some of them I really connected with, whether it was because we had similarities in our personal lives, subjects that I could relate to, or because I saw a part of me in them.

Someone that knows how to market effectively online.

This is pretty imperative if you’re looking to learn to do the same! You need to ensure that whoever you may be working with, “knows what they are doing”, if they don’t know how to build an internet business ,market effectively, drive traffic to a website, & then convert their website visitors into sales and money, how do you expect to learn the same from them? Not only that, but everybody has their own style of marketing, so this is something to bear as its highly likely when you start out, that its only natural you will follow their style until you manifest your own over time. So look into how they are marketing themselves, their websites & blogs any social networking sites that they are associated wit h, whether they are using free methods of marketing, or predominantly paid methods like PPC & newspaper advertising etc etc, this should build up a really good picture in your mind of the kind of person they are and how they run their business.

Some One Who Motivates Or Inspires You

To many this may not seem like essential criteria, but from my experience & journey in this industry, I do think it is quite important to have this for optimum success. As with anything new, there will be times of confusion & frustration, times when you need a pick me up, or just a good ole kick up the ass back into action. Don’t underestimate how important it could be to you, to partner with someone who can help you through those times. In this industry you must have a lot of self discipline to keep yourself on track, but having someone there for you to steer you onto the right path now and again is going to be a big help.

Someone who is accessible.

This one is important but shouldn’t be misconstrued. When joining an internet business and finding a mentor you need to have realistic expectations. It will ultimately be your business, you will be the one doing the work, and it will be your responsibility. Undoubtedley you will need guidance along the way, however mentorship doesn’t involve a 24/7 hotline for questions around the clock! Though on the other end of the spectrum you don’t want to find yourself in a situation where you cannot get hold of your sponsor for love nor money. When speaking with your prospective sponsors/mentors I’d advise enquiring as to how accessible they are, and how coaching generally takes place, ie webinars, coaching calls, skype or training emails. You may think that the best answer to hear is “I’m available whenever you need me, Monday-Sunday, I’ll always be on the end of the phone to answer your questions and hold your hand,” but be open minded and be realistic. Do you really think if your mentor is successful and enjoying the benefits of an internet business lifestyle that they’re going to be sat by their phone every hour of the day waiting for your call? We all lead busy lives, familys, children, commitments & leisure, so expect to be able to speak with your mentor regularly…

Someone that has the capabilities to train you and share their knowledge & skills with you.

It’s all well and good if you find yourself a successful mentor, but what you need to ensure is that they are capable of passing down the techniques and strategies that they are using, and that those methods are duplicatable. Question what method or training they predominantly use with their team members, and also review any testimonials for the mentor, if any, this is usually a very good indication of how well someone interacts with their team.

I feel that all the points above hold some form of importance in your final decision, and I hope that it has opened your eyes into exactly what you should be looking for in an internet mentor.

Failure Was Not An Option

I don't know about you but the word Failure really was not an option to me!
Two years ago I had sadly lost my Franchise business through no fault of my own but down to believe it or not, growing my business so big that when the time came to renewing my five year contract they wanted to cut my territory in two.
Having no choice but to walk away some £120,000 out of pocket and Bitter is an understatement.
Failure!!! No way, I didnt want to let my family down.

I managed to get a job straight away as a project manager with my business back ground but the daily traveling to Harlow nearly killed me.
But you know what I struggled with most was being answerable to some one else, after nearly five yrs running my own business taking orders from someone else really didnt sit right with me.
Being spoken to as if I was a nobody made my blood boil and at the end of the day I was lucky if it just covered my outgoings.
I dont know about you but I wanted more than that for my family, I like nice holidays, cars and a nice home and this job was not going to provide me with it!!
So every night after my 2hr drive home in the rush hr traffic I set my a goal each and every night.
That goal was I wasnt going to be a failure!!
I set about researching everything on the internet there was about" How To Make Money Online."Each and every night I would come in from work and spend the entire evening locked away in my little office upstairs.
Much to my wifes disgust I tried things and spent money on products that really didnt work, but I Gary Meadows was not going to be a Failure!!
I promised my wife I wouldnt throw away any more money we just couldnt afford to lose but I came across a product that really did make me think this could actually work.
After much consideration I spoke to Jane my wife and convinced her to let me have just one last throw of the dice.
